A big thank you to everyone who filled in our first ever membership survey.
It was incredibly helpful and has informed many decisions for the coming year.
Many respondents were incredibly generous with their answers and we took heart in the fact that nearly all of the events we have held got a mention as someone’s first, second or third favourite event. There was no clear winner, which suggests each event appears to work for at least a section, if not most of our attendees.
Our members are definitely our best advocates with 85.71% stating they had come to know about YV Winos and our events through word of mouth.
It was enlightening to also find out that the preferred frequency of events is every 6-8 weeks, with 57.14% of respondents marking this as their preference.
With this in mind, the committee has started to map out a calendar and we hope to provide more information about this in coming weeks.
The most critical factor for our events to be a success, is the topic and presenter. This rated as the highest component of what makes a good event by a whopping 92.31%.
The combination of food and wine as well as the venue, atmosphere and service were the next most important factors, both rating at 69.23%.
The question about an annual bus trip provided some interesting answers, with the option of a day trip with an informal lunch and visiting cellar doors or food providors winnnig out.
Everyone who filled in the survey said they were happy with current value offer to members but some did offer ways we could improve such as looking to more Australian wine regions, using a microphone and providing a list of babysitters.
